Situational Leadership Assessment Paper Situational Leadership Assessment Paper In today society much focus has been placed upon leadership styles and how to train people in such a way to improve the organization and receive commitment from those employed by the organization.

Various forms of leadership styles exist but how you apply them rest upon the leadership capability of the person in charge. The purpose of this paper is to identify my style of leadership based upon the situational leader approach and assessment by Blanchard and Hershey.

For leaders to be effective, it is essential that they determine where subordinates are on the development continuum and adapt their leadership style to match their style of development level Northouse, As an instructional leader already within an organization I always assumed that my leadership style was more of a transformational leader.

The assessment identified exactly the type organization and followers who are a part of the organization I am currently employed. The organization is comprised of a total of 80 people with 30 of them being teachers and rest support staff.

As I read the situations on the assessment and chose the answer choice that best fit the situation my preferred leadership style was an S2 Selling Coaching which means that the followers are D2 that they are unable but willing and motivated.

The assessment will determine if my leadership style fall between an S1 to S4 which matches the follower’s style of (D1 to D4).
